Name: Simon Rybicki
Age: I don’t (ok well 42).
What do you do?
I’m in Finance.
Where are you from?
Gdansk, Poland.
How long have you lived in Granada?
3 years.
What brought you to Granada?
Love.
Which neighborhood do you live in?
Most recently on Calle Jan Juan de Dios in the center of the city.
What do you like most about Granada?
The architecture and the cultural melting pot would probably be at the top of the list. However, Granada offers so much more: great food, bars, tapas, and flamenco. You are also 30 minutes away from a ski slope and 50 minutes away from the sea. It doesn’t get much better than that!
What do you like least about Granada?
The pollution.
Favorite local activity?
If I have to name one, it’s going to have to be skiing.
Favorite local dining spot?
So difficult to choose just one. Since I can’t decide which restaurant to choose, I’ll just name a takeaway lunch spot for those who work in the city center: Flor del Mercado. It’s a gem – I promise.
Favorite local hangout spot?
When it comes to the outdoors: Plaza de la Romanilla and the entire old town as well as Albaycin. As for bars, Humo and Botanico (they are right next to each other as well).
One tip you would give to someone visiting Granada.
You have to go see a flamenco dancer by the name of Paco Fernández.
